In posts before I talked about providing content for your yoga students which is not only a way of providing an enhanced service for your students but also benefits your yoga business.
Content can be thought of in two forms: content created by others and content created by yourself. Providing content is a valuable service that you can provide to your students as I explained in other posts.
But have you given serious thought to creating your own content for your yoga business?
You may be thinking how on earth can I create my own content? But it doesn’t need to be so hard.
It can be as simple as creating posters with the series of asanas that you teach. This could be useful to students at the beginner level that need help in remembering sequencing if they like to continue their practice outside of the class.
Or you could create your own downloadable audio. Perhaps in the form of a class, a meditation session, a pranayama session or a blend of all three. Or you could create series of classes that focus on different aspects of yoga.
You may like to create downloadable ebooks. You could write your own ebooks on whatever it is you find your students need or whatever topic takes your fancy. If you specialise in a particular area you may want to create a book on that topic, for example yoga for runners or yoga for children.
Then there is creating content in the form of videos. Again you could create a series of classes for your students to use outside of class time with you. Or you may wish to create a series of videos from workshops that you run.
The great thing about creating your own content as a yoga teacher is that it not only serves your current students, but it also helps to obtain new students for your yoga business. Potential students surfing the net looking for new teachers, can sample your content and it can work as a taster for them to see if they like your teaching style.
Creating content not only helps you to attract new students but it means that those in geographically diverse locations can still experience your teachings in the way of downloading your content from afar. This creates a much wider audience for you.
So creating your own content can be a way to serve your current students, attract new students and serve students from afar that can’t physically reach your classes. Creating content is a fabulous way to serve your students, widen your audience and develop yourself at the same time and of course it facilitates the growth and success of your yoga business.
